Learn Spanish in Santiago

Santiago, Chile

A buzzing city beneath snow-capped mountains, Santiago is one of the world’s best travel surprises.

With such a stunning mountain backdrop it’s easy to see why so many people love Santiago. Chile’s capital is the perfect mix of urban fun and wide-open spaces. Here there is everything you could want from a city – markets, galleries, museums, shops, nightlife – mixed with beautiful hillside parks and sidewalks that are made for walking.

A lot is changing as Santiago transforms itself from outpost to world-class travel destination. Every neighbourhood has its own style and they are easily connected by public transport, or on your own two feet. There’s a buzz to the streets but it’s not overwhelming or crowded; the mountains are so close and they keep everything in check.

Santiago is a very liveable city. You can see the main sights in a few days but after a few weeks you’ll come to know the city like a local. By doing so you’ll have endless opportunity to practice your Spanish, whether while sat at a cafe terrace or heading out into the surrounding vineyards. And you’ll also come to understand why Santiago is one of the world’s top travel surprises.

Our Spanish school in Santiago

In a beautiful early 20th-century mansion you’ll find Linguaschools Santiago. Bright colours give off a feeling of energy that’s typical for the city. It feels like you’re learning in a home, rather than a school. 12 classrooms surround an interior garden and you’ll see artistic details throughout. Most our teachers are native to the city, so as well bringing their experience and knowhow, they will help you explore the Chilean capital like a local.

San Cristobal Hill provides the backdrop to the school. It’s the largest park in the city and a good place to relax after classes. You’ll be studying right on the edge of an elegant, upper-class area called Providencia, next to Bellavista, an upcoming neighbourhood known for its artisans and culture. Think restaurants, theatres, pubs, shops, students, and more. And think about using your Spanish skills every moment you’re in the city. Santiago loves visitors who speak Spanish and you will quickly make new friends.

Spanish courses in Santiago

Linguaschools Santiago runs a wide variety of Spanish courses so everybody can learn, even absolute beginners. Learning in small groups of students with similar ability means continued opportunity to converse and study. Students come from all over the world and you’ll make friends with people who have backgrounds very different from your own. This really helps the learning process, making it fun and interesting, as well as educational.

In addition, individual classes help you focus on weak areas and your own specific language requirements. Group lessons can be supplemented by 5 or 10 individual lessons. Or you can enrol on a program of exclusively group or individual lessons. As with all Linguaschools the classes are conducted exclusively in Spanish, the best way to improve all elements of your language.
